My older Berg 6 channel receivers had a soldered "jumper" to select
either channel 7 or channel 5 as the channel 5 output. To switch
from channel 7 to channel 5 simply unsolder from the channel 7 side
and resolder to the channel 5 side. The actual "jumper" is a "zero
ohm" surface mount resister. The actual part is rather small, you
might want someone with proficiency in soldering to do the work for
you.

As a side note, in order to use channels 2 through 7 from your JR
783, 8103, etc, Leave output 5 connected to either channel 5 or 7,
cut the actual signal pin to output 1 and solder a small wire from
the unattached channel 7 or channel 5 to the channel 1 output pin.

Then, if channel 7 is routed to output 5 then, with channel 5 routed
to output 1, the available channels become:

TX RX
1 -
2 2 Right Aileron
3 3 Elevator or Left vtail
4 4 Rudder or Right vtail
5 1 Left Ailereon
6 6 Left Flap
7 5 Right Flap
8 -

or if channel 5 is already routed to output 5 then, with channel 7
routed to output 1, the assignments are:

TX RX
1 -
2 2 Right Aileron
3 3 Elevator - Left vtail
4 4 Rudder - Right vtail
5 5 Left Ailereon
6 6 Left Flap
7 1 Right Flap
8 -

This allows use of Berg 6 on full house sailplanes.

Of course, the JR 9303 takes care of this in glider mode by
reassigning the left aileron to channel 1 and the right flap to
channel 5 ... giving the same functionality as the first example
above, only without the channel changing at the receiver.

With a little thought, it works for me.

Also, the older Bergs had another "zero ohm" jumper for shift
select. Thus the receivers were quite versatile.
