A while back, suggestions were offered for taking the curl out of mylars that had been in storage for a long time. I've lost the original list but whoever suggested ironing, thank you, that REALLY worked.
First time around I didn't get it hot enough but a new planform (and mylars) led to desperation and it was re-tried. At 'Perm Press' nothing happened. By 'Wool' it started to flatten out. When you get to 'Cotton' and beyond, the mylar may stretch and warp too much. So for you house-husband domestic types with curly mylars, set the iron between wool and cotton, add a little steam, cover the mylar with a light cotton towel and start ironing. Don't let it sit in any one place but keep going back and forth slowly for about 5 minutes. Flip it over and do it again. Let it cool down a bit under the towel and you'll have mylars that are REALLY flat. Thanks for the suggestion. Apologies for losing track of the original source.
