I am a full supporter of the Dremel people. Having owned up to 6 of these at one time, ahving sent them back to be repaired and / or relaced, their service is next to no one.

Hey now, Doubt it all you want, but those of us that use rotory tool to make our living pretty much all use Foredom tools (unless we can afford air drive systems, sigh.). I personaly can't stand the whine of that little motor spinning up and I often want to turn a burr at 500 rpm and bear down on it so I need torque that a Dremal could never give. I have used Dremals in the past, but I murder them within three weeks and Dremal has always returned them unrepaired claiming I abused their toy, er, tool. Twenty years, four to six hours a day, four days a week, carving fossilized ivory, extreme hardwoods, stone, and model stuff, and it's still going strong. Dremal can't touch that, won't even come close.
For those local to the S.F.bay area, Otto Frei has full Foredom starter kits on sale at $199.95, now that's a deal. RobII
