The funding comes from MS Solar Holdings, which is a subsidiary of Morgan Stanley, along with Main Street Power Company. OneRoof Energy said the deal also includes debt financing from the National Bank of Arizona. Kofax said it paid $13.5M in cash for Altosoft, which was headquartered in Media, Pennsylvania. According to Kofax, Altosoft had unaudited, 2012 revenues of $3.4M. Altosoft becomes a wholly owned subsidiary of the company. Altosoft is a developer real time reporting and dash board applications, and had 43 employees and contractors working for the firm. SendGrid Rolls Application Load Testing Service ---- SendGrid, the developer of email delivery APIs and infrastructure which has major operations in Anaheim, said Thursday that it has launched a new, cloud-based service for load testing their applications and APIs. The firm said its new Loader.io service lets developers stress their web apps and APIs with thousands of concurrent connections, and makes it easy for developers to routinely load test during their daily coding and deployment routines. SendGrid said the new service is free to developers, and comes out of its SendGrid Labs effort, a program it has to internally incubate new software and ideas. Kuyam.com Targets Busy Women With Online Appointments Service ---- A new, Los Angeles startup, Kuyam.com, launched Thursday, saying it is targeting busy women with a new service to help them find local services in the Los Angeles area, and book appointment times online. The new service said it has created a way for users to find local lifestyle businesses and schedule appointments through an easy-to-use, user friendly calendar. Kyam.com was created by Kuorosh Gohar. The company said it is free to use for users, but charges businesses a small fee for booking appointments through its site. The privately held firm did not disclose its revenues, however, the firm has previously been reported to have had revenues of between $50-100M in revenues in 2011, and $15-20M in revenues in 2009. The firm provides edge network services to help deliver content from such customers as Twitter, Pinterest, Sony, and Hulu to end users. The firm said its "substantial" revenue growth came from supporting around five percent of the world's Internet traffic. The firm--which is focusing on treating rheumatoid arthritis (RA), lupus and other autoimmune diseases, said the new $1M capital term loan facility comes on top of an existing, $500K facility it has with SVB. Financial details of that term loan were not disclosed.
