The Los Angeles startup said it has teamed with over 50 startup accelerators to offer up 12 months of its 2 user, 100GB service for free, something it normally charges $1800 for. The company said the effort is part of an effort to both support the startup community--as well as connect with future integration partners. Nimble is led by Jon Ferrara, and offers up a service that helps users better track their contacts, customers, sales prospects, and more, and communicate with them via email, social networks, and more. The company's list of startup accelerators include LaunchpadLA, MuckerLab, and many others. SpaceX Berths Successfully With ISS ---- Hawthorne-based SpaceX again successfully docked with the International Space Station on Sunday morning, at 8:56 a.m. EST, after overcoming thruster nozzle issues on Friday. SpaceX, headed by Elon Musk, is in the midst of its second, official mission to resupply the International Space Station. SpaceX launched its latest mission of Friday morning, delivering 2,3000 pounds of cargo the ISS, and expected to return over 3,000 pounds of cargo on March 25th. The Gores Group Buys GE Healthcare Strategic Sourcing ---- Los Angeles-based private equity investor The Gores Group announced this morning that it has completed the acquisition of GE Healthcare STrategic Sourcing, from GE Healthcare. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. GE Healthcare Strategic Sourcing is based in Wilbraham, Mass., and provides electronic billing and electronic medical records outsourcing. As part of the acquisition, Gores Group said it has appointed Rob Gontarek as the new CEO of GE Healthcare Strategic Sourcing. Qualcomm Life Ties With WebMD ---- San Diego-based Qualcomm said this morning that its subsidiary, Qualcomm Life, has joined with health information site WebMD. According to the companies, the two have linked to enable consumers to access and manage their wireless health data from fitness, wellness and medical devices. Financial terms of the link were not disclosed. The new collaboration revolves around Qualcomm's 2net Hub API and SDK, which lets health care device providers communicate wirelessly. The two companies did not elaborate further on the integration effort. Life Technologies Licenses Stem Cell Technology From Harvard ---- Carlsbad-based Life Technologies, the developer of life sciences tools and equipment, said today that it has signed a collaborative research agreement with Harvard University. Life Technologies said the deal covered stem cell research technology, which will be offered on its semiconductor sequencing and PCR-based genetic analysis platform. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. (More...) http://bit.ly/15t5a9t Web On The Go Launches No-Contract, Mobile Internet Service ---- Web On The Go, a new, low cost mobile Internet provider backed by Los Angeles-based Telscape Communications, said last week that it has launched its services. The service said it will provide a low cost, mobile Internet service which costs $4.59 a month plus 3.5 cents per megabyte, allowing users to access the Internet via either a USB dongle or a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot. Telscape is a Los Angeles provider of telecom services. Web On The Go was developed along with Sage Telecom, another provider of local, long distance, high speed internet, and broadband services. http://bit.ly/XI7p6H Kotura Bolsters Board ---- Monterey Park-based Kotura, which develops photonics semiconductors, has named a new member to its board of directors. The firm said that Brian Wong, President and CEO of Enervate, a developer of rechargeable energy storage technology, has joined the company's board. Wong also has served at D2Audio, Primarion, and Xerox. Kotura is a developer of silicon semiconductor products, used for high speed optoelectronics. SpaceX Falcon Lifts Off Successfully In Second Resupply Mission ---- Chalk up another successful launch for SpaceX, the commercial rocket firm founded by technology mogul Elon Musk. SpaceX's latest mission--a resupply mission to the International Space Station--took off successfully from Cape Canaveral Friday morning, the second, official resupply mission for the company. The SpaceX CRS-2 mission took off at 10:10AM EST from the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station launch complex, on a mission to deliver 1,200 pounds of supplies to the ISS. The spacecraft's Dragon spacecraft is expected to return around 2,300 pounds of cargo on March 25th, off the coast of Baja California. Teledyne Completes RESON Buy ---- Thousand Oaks-based electronics, aerospace, defense, and engineering products firm Teledyne said Friday morning that it has completed its acquisition of Denmark-based Reson A/S. Teledyne had originally announced its acquisition of RESON on January 29th. Financial details of the deal have not been announced. RESON provides high-resolution marine acoustic imaging and measurement products.
