But, how successful have they been? Although it might still be on the early side for an analysis, we've run our numbers again to figure out who's having the biggest success so far in the market, where entrepreneurs are most likely to find capital providers hanging out, and where (if anywhere) are exits happening? (More...) http://bit.ly/1587uVY Punchcard Gets Award ---- Punchcard, the developer of mobile loyalty and rewards applications which is backed by Idealab, has won an award at an industry conference, the firm said this week. Punchcard said it won the Future Stars award at the BIA Kelsey Leading in Local conference in Boston a couple of weeks ago, after competing in a "Shark Tank" style demo session. Punchcard, which was founded by Andy Steuer, develops mobile applications which are used by local retailers to encourage repeat visits to their locations; the company's app revolves around taking pictures of receipts from various retailers and getting a chance to win different prizes and rewards. Punchcard is based in Pasadena. EDF Renewable Services Signs Wind Farm Contract ---- San Diego-based EDF Renewable Services, a provider of third-party, operations and maintenance services for renewable energy facilities, reported a win this week with the Edom Hill Wind Farm in the San Gorgornio Pass. EDF Renewables said it will provider operations and maintenance services for Clipper wind turbine generators at the location. Size of the win was not disclosed. EDF said the wind farm generates 20MW of renewable energy, and is in the San Gorgonio Pass near Palm Springs. Green Dot CFO To Step Down ---- Monrovia, California-based Green Dot, the provider of prepaid credit cards, said this week that the firm's CFO, John Keatley, will be leaving the firm in September. According to Green Dot, Keatley will be relocating his family to Sweden, his wife's original home, where he will become CFO of a Stockholm-based technology company. Green Dot said that Keatley will continue to serve full time as CFO until September 1st. Keatley had been CFO of Green Dot since 2006, before the firm's IPO. ACTIVE Network Ties With IRONMAN ---- San Diego-based online, cloud-based sports and activity registration provider ACTIVE Network reported today that it has linked with IRONMAN, the sports race operator. According to the two companies, they are in a three year deal where ACTIVE will offer up race registration to IRONMAN's events. IRONMAN holds nearly 190 events worldwide across its brands.
