NRG Solar Official Opens Largest Solar Plant in California
----
Carlsbad-based solar energy developer NRG Energy announced this
morning that it has cut the ribbon on what it says is the largest,
operating photovoltaic facility in California. The solar
plant--located in Lancaster--will officially open later today. NRG
said its new Alpine Solar Generating Facility will produce 66
megawatts of capacity, or the equivalent of 53,000 homes. The plant's
energy output is being sold to PG&E. The Northern Los Angeles County
plant actually started commercial operations earlier this year. NRG
Solar says it is currently working on seven other solar energy plants
nationwide.

Cymer Merger Effort Gets Another Approval
----
The acquisition of San Diego's Cymer by Dutch company ASML has cleared
another regulatory hurdle, the two said Thursday, as the Japan Fair
Trade Commission cleared the company's acquisition deal. The two have
been grinding through a long list of government clearances (so far,
from the U.S., Taiwan, Germany, and Israel) since the deal was
announced last October. Cymer said it still is waiting for approval
from South Korea. Cymer is a developer of laser light sources used in
the semiconductor manufacturing industry; ASML is a developer of
lithography systems for the chipmaking process.

CraveOnline Sets Up Its Own Production Studio
----
Los Angeles-based CraveOnline, the online unit of Evolve Media which
caters to men with its video and other online content, said it has set
up its own studio for creating original video. The company said it has
opened up a new, 4,000 square foot studio at its Los Angeles
headquarters specifically to create original video. The company said
the studio includes a green screen, "numerous" sets, and
state-of-the-art equipment. CraveOnline said it has a new production
team of 10 people behind the studio.

Apriso Targets Global Manufacturers
----
Long Beach-based Apriso, the developer of software for managing
manufacturing operations, said this week that it has debuted a new
product. The new product is aimed at global manufacturers, the company
said, to provide them better visibility into their plant floor. The
firm said its Packaging Solution for Global Manufacturer was designed
specifically for handling language, labeling, and material tracking
requirements for those manufacturers. Pricing on the new product was
not announced. The firm says its customers include GM, Tesla Motors,
Volvo CE, Cummins, L'Oreal, and many others.

NationBuilder Rolls Out New Theme For Creative Pros
----
NationBuilder, the online provider of tools to help build out
political campaigns, nonprofits, government, and business, is looking
to make the company's tools more attractive to the creative set,
saying this week that it has rolled out a new theme called "IndiePro".
The theme, according to the company, is aimed at musicians,
filmmakers, artists, bloggers , and others looking to show off their
creative work. The new theme is part of a move by
NationBuilder--kicked off earlier this year--to expand beyond its
roots helping to power political campaigns. The firm had seen a huge
uptick in its business in politics during the election year, but since
then has broadened its offerings to also help nonprofits, government,
and businesses outside of politics.

MediaPass Gets Win in Alabama
----
MediaPass, which develops online paywall software for newspapers and
other publications, has scored another win today, saying that it has
added Consolidated Publishing of Alabama as a customer. MediaPass said
that Consolidated is using the MediaPass software for four of its
online newspapers. MediaPass is helping publishers as paywalls on
content have increasingly become more popular. In the case of
Consolidated Publishing, the publisher's online newspapers are
charging $3 per week for access to content on any, Internet-enabled
device. MediaPass, which is headed by Malcolm Casselle, says it now
has over 1,000 other news and content sites using its software.

WemoLab Launches Tablet App Around Ocean Education
----
Venice-based WemoLab--which has been developing entertainment products
around an oceanic theme--announced today that it has launched its
first, mobile product, a new interactive tablet app. The firm said its
app, SuperFugu, let kids take a "field trip" around the world's ocean.
The app is free, and runs on the iPad. WemoLab, which is led by
Neville Spiteri, has been developing an extensive, educational
platform focused on teaching kids about the oceans. The firm's
co-founders include technology and entertainment vets Neville
Spiteri, Scott Yara and Anthony Batt, and the company has raised
funding from angel investors such as Digital Garage (Joi Ito) and
others.

----

IPO, saying in a filing Thursday that it is expecting to offer
4,645,000 shares of its stock at between $13.00 and $15.00 per share.
