Online live entertainment ticket marketplace ScoreBig.com has signed
on a big new partner this morning, United MileagePlus. Los
Angeles-based ScoreBig.com, which is headed by ticketing industry vet
Adam Kanner, said that it is the exclusive marketing partner for
live-event ticketing for MileagePlus. The deal allows MilagePlus
members to earn miles on tickets they buy, and also allows users to
trade in their miles to purchase tickets to live events on

Kite Pharma Raises $35M
----
Los Angeles-based Kite Pharma, a biotechnology company developing
immunotherapies for cancer, said today that it has raised $35M in its
Series A funding round. The firm said that the funding came from Alta
Partners, David Bonderman, Pontifax Ltd., Commercial Street Capital,
and Michael Milken, along with its founder, Arie Belldegrun.

Kofax Selected By Mortgage Finance Firm CashCall
----
Irvine-based Kofax, which develops document capture and process
automation software, said today that it has been selected by mortgage
loan processing company CashCall. Kofax said that CashCall is using
its mobile app to streamline and automate mortgage loan processing.
Financial details of the win were not disclosed. Kofax explained the
mortgage lending company is using mobile devices to capture mortgage
documents required for applications, including paycheck stubs, W-2's,
investment account statements, and tax returns. Kofax said its mobile
apps include technology to help correct issues with poor camera
angels, illumination, warping, and more, making sure that images taken
with a mobile phone or tablet can be properly processed.

Google Celebrates Atari Anniversary With Breakout Game
----
It's the 37th anniversary of the videogame Atari Breakout, and the
game has gotten its own tribute on Google. Google launched an online
game--Atari Breakout--Tuesday, letting users play a version of the
famous videogame created by Los Angeles resident Nolan Bushnell. Users
searching for "atari breakout" on Google Image Search are presented
with a working, real version of the videogame, played with image
blocks made up of Atari Breakout photos. Bushnell, who founded both
Atari and Chuck E'Cheese, has been an advisor to and investor in a
number of Los Angeles startups. Bushnell founded Atari in 1972.

StyleHaul Adds Another $6M
----
Los Angeles-based fashion video producer StyleHaul, the YouTube
network headed by Stephanie Horbaczewski, has raised another $6M in
funding, the firm disclosed Tuesday. The funding came from RLG Group,
a European media company. StyleHaul's YouTube network focuses on
celebrity, shopping, and fashion. The firm has previously raised
funding from
Bertelsmann Digital Media Investments, Juvo Capital, RezVen Partners,
Siemer Ventures, and Machinima's Allen DeBevoise.

NetDNA Powers Wordpress Optimization Service
----
Los Angeles-based content delivery network provider NetDNA is powering
a web performance optimization service for WordPress blog owners
Tuesday morning. NetDNA said that W3 Total Cache, which develops a
plug-in for the popular WordPress web publishing software, is using
its MaxCDN services to help its customers with optimizing WordPress
sites. Financial impact of the deal were not disclosed. W3 Total
Cache's plugin helps WordPress developers to manage browser caching,
minifying scripts and code, and more, helping to improve site
performance for WordPress users.

DogVacay Launches Concierge Service
----
Need some help finding and booking someone to take care of your dog
when you're away? Santa Monica-based DogVacay, the online,
peer-to-peer dog boarding marketplace, is hoping to make it much
easier to use its service, through the launch of a new "conciege"
