According to the two, Disney films such as Ratatouille, Wall-E, The Chronicles of Narnia, and Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl, plus classics like Dumbo and the Aristocats will be available to watch instantly. Financial details of the deal between the companies were not announced. Teledyne Buys Axiom IC ---- Thousand Oaks-based Teledyne Technologies announced this morning that it has acquired Axiom IC B.V., a fabless semiconductor firm developing high performance, CMOS mixed signal integrated circuits. Financial details of the buy were not announced. Axiom IC was based in Enschede, the Netherlands, and develops analog to digital converters, signal processing, and other chips for the space systems, wireless communications, automotive, and medical technology market. Teledyne said it made the acquisition through its subsidiary, Teledyne DALSA B.V. Teledyne said it would use the acquisition to help bolsters its CMOS-based image sensor and camera products. Transphorm Names New CEO ---- Goleta-based Transphorm, the developer of Gallium Nitride (GaN) power conversion technology and devices, said today that it has named Fumihide "Humi" Esaka as its new CEO. Esaka is currently the CEO of Nihon Inter Electronics Corporation (NIEC), and also has served at International Rectifier. Current CEO Umesh Mishra will become Chairman and CTO of the company. Transphorm is backed by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, and is developing power conversion products which it says are far more efficient that currently available technology. VCheck Global Claims Growth ---- Los Angeles-based Vcheck Global, one of the firms founded by serial entrepreneur Shai Stern, said over the weekend that it doubled its revenues and clients in Q1. The provider of business-to-business due diligence and background check services said the growth came from the securities industry, financial services, and factoring institutions. Vcheck Global is headed by Michael Adams; its chairman is Shai Stern, who founded Vintage Filings, which he sold to PR Newswire back in 2007. Inktank Gets $13.4M For Cloud Storage Technology ---- Los Angeles-based Inktank, the developer of the open source, massively parallel, distributed file system Ceph, has added $13.4M into its coffers, according to a regulatory filing by the firm Friday. The filing says the funding--in the form of a debt round--came from four investors. Details on the investment have not yet been announced by the company. Inktank, which is a spinout of Dreamhost, has been developing the Ceph distributed file system for Linux, which is used to deliver high performance, distributed storage for open cloud systems like OpenStack and CloudStack. http://www.socaltech.com/intelligence/?action=showdeal&id=50429 Tealium Hires Chief Revenue Offier ---- San Diego-based Tealium said last week that it has added a Chief Revenue Officer to help support the company's rapid growth. The firm said it named Brian Blond as CRO, to oversee its growth strategy and all direct and indirect distribution channels. Blond joins the firm from Vitrue, and also had served at Moxie Software and BladeLogic. Tealium is a venture backed developer of tag management software, used by enterprise to manage the tags on their websites. The firm is backed by Tenaya Capital, Battery Ventures and Presidio Ventures. Triton Digital Names CTO ---- Los Angeles-based Triton Digital, the Oaktree Capital-backed provider of digital advertising services to the traditional and online radio market, said last week that it has named Jean-Francois ("Jeff") Gadoury as its Chief Technology Officer. Gadoury has been Chief Technology Officer of the company's streaming products for the last six years. Prior to that, he was at Cesart International/Bell Canada, and also has served at Tata Communications, Atlas Telecom Mobile, and CESCOM.
