Salka Finds Backing For Renewable Energy Effort
----
San Diego-based Salka Corp. said this morning that it has scored
funding from a number of investors, to help invest in renewable energy
projects. Salka said it will acquire, develop, and construct wind and
solar projects throughout North America, with the backing of Wofi
Capital, a Gulf-based family office. Salka said it is led by Jiddu
Tapia, most recently head of North American wind development at global
wind energy firm Gamesa Technology Corp. The firm did not say how much
funding Wofi Capital will provide for its projects.

PathCentral Adds Penn Medicine
----
Irvine-based PathCentral said today that it has added Penn Medicine to
its online information exchange and consultation forums. PathCentral
said that Penn will participate in its PathCentral Pathology Network,
which lets physicians upload case files and gain reviews from other
pathologists. Financial impact of the win was not announced.

Everbridge Signs Medical Center In Nevada
----
Glendale-based Everbridge, which supplies communications and mass
notification products, said today that it has signed up a new
customer. Everbridge said that Renown Regional Medical Center, which
serves the Reno, Nevada area, has signed on as a customer of the firm,
using Everbridge for communications across two hospitals, three
emergency room centers, nine imaging centers and over 20 medical group
urgent care centers. Financial impact of the win were not announced.
Everbridge offers up emergency notification and other automated
communications systems.

Imprimis Pharmaceuticals Licenses IP
----
San Diego-based Imprimis Pharmaceuticals said this morning that it has
licensed a set of intellectual property assets, from Buderer Drug
Company. Financial details of the licensing deal were not announced.
Imprimis said it is developing innovations based on technology from
the compounding pharmacy operations of Buderer. Imprimis said it is in
the process of filing for a patent on those new IP assets. The company
did not say what segment of the market the new assets would target.

Cute Puppy Alert: DogVacay Uses Cute Dog Photos To Find Customers

A new, Los Angeles startup incubator, Greenwings Biomedical, announced

Bixel Exchange Launches New Startup Center
----
Adding one more startup incubator/accelerator to the long list in Los
Angeles, Bixel Exchange launched Thursday, to offer up mentoring and
classes to local startups. The new center was created by the Los
Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce. According to the Bixel Exchange, the
new technology center will provide mentors and advisors, informatoin
and educaiton, and connections to the local community. The center will
focus on adtech, mobile, digital and social media, gaming and clean
tech.

ZEFR Targets Brands With New Service, BrandID
----
Venice-based ZEFR has rolled out a new product today, BrandID, which
it says will help brands identify their fans on YouTube, provide
visibility into how those fans are responding and engaging, and
provide data on a brand's competitors. The startup, which is led by
Zach James, also said it has signed both P&G's COVERGIRL and Pantene
