According to Edmunds.com, its Director of Vehicle Testing Dan Edmunds and Photo Editor Kurt Niebuhr drove the Tesla from Redondo Beach to New York City, in 67 hours and 21 minutes, which beats the previous record of 76 hours and 5 minutes. The company said it named Andrew Miller, current Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of molecular diagnostics company Cepheid, to its board. Miller has been at Cepheid since 2008, and also had served at Autodesk, MarketFirst Software, Cadence Design Systems, Adaptive Broadband, and Silicon Graphics. United Online said Miller is the eighth member of its board. United Online runs such brands as Classmates, Stayfriends, MyPoints, NetZero, and Juno. Iteris Gets Market Warning ---- Santa Ana-based Iteris, a developer of technology for the traffic management and transportation industry, reported late Monday that it has received a notice of noncompliance from the NYSE. According to Iteris, the NYSE indicated that the company is not in compliance with several requirements of the exchange, due to the company's inability to file its annual 10-K report. Iteris said it now must submit a plan by July 31st, to regain compliance with those exchange listing standards. The warning came after the company changed out its CFO and reported financial control issues last week. CheckAlt Wins Another Credit Union ---- Los Angeles-based payment processing technology provider CheckAlt has signed up another customer, Energy Capital Credit Union, according to the company. Financial impact of the win was not announced. CheckAlt--which is led by Shai Stern--develops Check 21 payment processing products, used for capture of paper checks and other payment transactions by financial institutions. Dealflicks Raises $1.7M ---- Los Angeles- and San Francisco-based Dealflicks, an online service which offers up discounted movie tickets to help theater chains fill empty seats, has raised $1.7M in a seed funding. The company disclosed Monday that the funding came from 500 Startups, Siemer Ventures, Archer Gray, Rubicon VC, Wefunder, Be Great Partners, Rosepaul Investments, Mogility Capital, Sierra Maya Ventures, and Warner Brothers, along with angels. Dealflicks says it works deals with individual movie theaters to help them fill their empty seats. The company says that approximately 88 percent of movie seats are empty, on average. http://www.socaltech.com/intelligence/index.php?action=showdeal&id=58799 Allergan To Cut 1500 Jobs ---- Allergan said Tuesday morning that it is cutting 1,500 jobs, or approximately 13 percent of its headcount, as part of a restructuring effort. The cuts come as part it battles an unsolicited takeover bid by Valeant Pharmaceuticals. Allergan has around 2,300 employees in Irvine, where it is headquartered. According to Allergan, the cuts will save the company approximately $475M in calendar year 2014. The cuts will come across its commercial organization, general and administrative functions, manufacturing and the research and development organizations, the company said today; the company also said it will eliminate hiring in approximately 250 vacant positions. Allergan is the maker of Botox.
