According to Rhubarb Studios, it will host a 48-hour hackathon from August 21s to 23rd in its Hack for Humanity, to allow hackers, makers, and problem solvers to invent technology and solutions to address the water crisis. Rhubarb Studios is led by Cauri Jaye. EbizTech provides system integration and cloud storage services. Zadara develops a hardware product, the Zadara Virtual Private Storage Array, which helps customers shift to cloud storage--either in the public cloud, or locally as a private cloud. Zadara is led by Nelson Nahum, a veteran of the storage area networking market. Tongal Ties With Nokia On Virtual Reality Film Project ---- Los Angeles-based crowdsourced content startup Tongal has linked up with Nokia, to promote the creation of a virtual reality film project through its program, the companies said today. According to the two, the new virtual reality project, Look Around You, will challenge creators to develop 120-second shorts that bring virtual reality stories to life. The two said that the three phase competition includes a concept, pitch, and video phase, with two filmmakers getting use of a camera and technical and postproduction support from Nokia to bring their production to life.
