The Series D funding was led by Blackstone Tactical Opportunities and Insight Venture Partners, and also included prior investors In-Q-Tel, Capital One, Dell Ventures, DFJ Growth Fund, FairHaven Capital Partners, Khosla Ventures, KKR, and TenEleven Ventures. Zadara Rolls Out New Enterprise Cloud Storage Offering ---- Irvine-based Zadara Storage, which develops enterprise storage-as-a-service hardware, software, and services, said this week that it has launched a new product called the Zadara Cube. According to the company, the new product is based on its existing VPSA Storage Array technology, and connects customers into Amazon Web Services. Zadara said all charges for Zadara Cube show up on a customer's AWS bills, alongside other AWS services. The new Zadara product supports both NAS and SAN operation, and can support from 1.6TB to 30TB of storage. Zadara is led by storage vet Nelson Nahum. Digital Domain Holdings Buys Digital Funk Machine For New VR Game Studio ---- Playa Vista-based Digital Domain Holdings, which is the parent company of visual effects company Digital Domain, said on Thursday that it has acquired videogame developer Digital Funk Machine, and created a new division called Digital Domain Interactive. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Digital Domain said the new interactive unit will focus entirely on development and production of virtual reality content. The new division will continue to be led by Jeremy Airey, the founder of Digital Funk Machine. Digital Domain said Airey has also served at Konami, Midway Home Entertainment and Interplay Productions. The two said that Digital Funk Machine has created titles for EA's MLB franchise, Sims DJ, Tony Hawk's Underground, Monopoly Classic, and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09. EnGenius Rolls Out New MU-MIMO Wireless Access Point ---- Costa Mesa-based EnGenius Technologies, the developer of wireless networking products, said this week that it has rolled out a new, outdoor Mu-MIMO access point. EnGenius said its ENS620EXT Outdoor 11ac Wave 2 AC1300 Access Point supports the dual band 802.11ac Wave 2 standard, with multiple-user and multiple input, multiple output support for better user capacity, and is designed for outdoor installation. The access point runs on the 5 Ghz and 2.4 GHz band, with speeds of up to 867Mbps on 5Ghz and 400Mbps on 2.4 Ghz. The new device has an MSRP of $229.00. TVC Capital Backs BitTitan ---- San Diego-based growth and private equity investor TVC Capital is the lead backer of cloud services company BitTitan, which announced a $15M, Series A financing this morning. According to BitTitan, the funding was led by TVC Capital, and also included Tao Capital Partners, and was the company's first funding since it was foundedi n 2007. Steve Hamerslag of TVC Capital will join BitTitan's board as part of the funding. BitTitan is based in Kirkland, Washington. TVC said BitTitan is the company's largest, Series A funding to date.
