The company said it offers up replacement lenses by mail, for costs a fraction of an optician. The startup was founded by Andy Bilinsky and Mike Rahimzadeh, who previously founded consumer online eyewear brand ivory + mason Eyewear. Bilinsky also had worked at HauteLook at Beachmint, and Rahimzadeah was at Great Minds Design. The company said it has been backed by seed money from angels Jon Shokrian (MeUndies) and Ben Nazarian (Propel Factory). Lensabl says it saves an average of 70 percent on lens replacement by cutting out the middlemen in filling prescription and other lens replacements. http://www.socaltech.com/lensabl_launches_lens_replacement_service/s-0067952.html Yardi Adds New Customer ---- Santa Barbara-based Yardi, which develops property management and accounting software for the real estate market, reported another customer win this morning, with commercial property owner Blatteis & Schnur. Yardi did not detail the financial impact of the win. Blatteis & Schnur operates 29 multi-tenant retail properties, which it will manage with Yardi's software. Yardi said Blatteis & Schnur had been running those operations with "multiple antiquated spreadsheet applications". Lytx Wins 340 Truck Fleet ---- San Diego-based "Lytx, which develops video-based driver monitoring systems for fleet management, has on Andrus Transportation Services, which runs a 340-truck fleet in the Western half of the U.S. Lytx said that Andrus is using its Lytx DriveCam video analytics products for its entire fleet, after a trial of the technology. Andrus serves 11 Western states and Texas. DriveCam says its systems are now being used by more than 600,000 commercial and government fleet drivers. Bourns Buys Assets From Transtek ---- Riverside-based Bourns, a manufacturer and supplier of electronic components such as speed sensors, magnetic components, circuit protection, and other components, has acquired assets from Transtek, the company said Monday. Bourns said the portfolio of products from Transtek includes custom transformers, inductors and coils, used for electrical isolation and voltage conversion in power electronics circuitry. Financial details of the acquisition were not announced. Bourns said the components are sold in the automotive, solar power and consumer electronics markets, and includes design and manufacturing operations in Dongguan China, and sales and support in Tucson, Arizona. Qualcomm, Preh In Electric Vehicle Technology Deal ---- San Diego-based Qualcomm, and Preh, GmbH, which is part of Joyson Electronics Group, said this morning that the two are in a new, wireless electric vehicle charging license agreement. The two said the deal will allow Preh to develop, make, and supply wireless electric vehicle charging systems for the Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) and Electric Vehicle (EV) market, based on Qualcomm's Halo technology. Financial details of the licensing deal were not announced by the companies. Report: Vizio Deal In Doubt As LeEco Hits Cash Crunch ---- The record-breaking, $2 billion acquisition of Irvine-based Vizio, which was announced in June, might be in doubt, according to a report today from Bloomberg. Bloomberg reports that the chairman of LeEco, Jia Yueting, said the company is "running out of cash" due to its pace of expansion.
