Carlsbad-based satellite broadband provider Viasat said this morning that
it has been selected by EL AL Israel Airlines, to provide in-flight Wi-Fi
on EL AL's transatlantic flights. Financial details of the deal were not
announced. Viasat said EL AL will be using its Viasat-2 based broadband
Internet service, covering travel to and from New York, Toronto, Los
Angeles, Miami and eventually, San Francisco and Las Vegas, when EL AL

manufacturing and development, has been acquired by Kordsa, a Turkish
company which focuses on composite materials and other areas. Financial

<http://www.yardi.com>* has expanded its renter screening service,
ScreenWorks Pro, saying this morning that it has started providing access
to payroll records from Equifax in the olution. According to Yardi, it now
offers up intsant income and employment verification in its screening
solution, in addition to credit reports, rental history and other publicly

Irvine-based cybersecurity software developer Cylance says it has extended
its artificial intelligence driven, endpoint protection software,
CylancePROTECT, to the AWS Marketplace. AWS Marketplace is Amazon's
marketplace for business software that runs on the Amazon Web Services
(AWS) cloud computing infrastructure. According to Cylance, the deal will
make it easier for customers to find, procure, and install its AI

Santa Monica-based TrueCar announced late Thursday that it has acquired a
20 percent stake in Accu-Trade, a provider of vehicle apparisal technology.
Financial terms of the deal were not annoucned. Accu-Trade, which is based
in Manheim, Pennsylvania, and provides a mobile app which offers up vehicle

Avetta, a provider of supply chain management software which has an office
in Irvine, has merged with another supply chain risk management company,
BROWZ, the companies said this week. Avetta is owned by private equity
investor Welsh Carson Anderson & Stowe. The combined firm says it has more
than 85,000 customers in over 100 countries. Financial terms of the merger
were not announced. The combined company will be led by John Herr, the CEO

Rivian, a developer of electric powered pickups and SUVs--which has
significant operations in Irvine--has raised $700M in a funding round, the
company announced Friday morning. The funding was led by Amazon. According
to Rivian, its first two vehicles--the R1T and R1S--provide over 400 miles
of range, and are expected to be delivered in late 2020. The company is led
