*Microsoft, Disney Link On Cloud, Technology Deal*

The Walt Disney Studios, in Burbank, and technology giant Microsoft Corp.
are in a new deal where the two will work together, where Disney will work
with Microsoft on ways to create, produce and distribute content on the
Microsoft Azure cloud platform, the companies announced on Friday morning.
According to the companies, they are in a five year "innovation
partnership" to develop 'scene-to-screen' content workflows, which will

*Activision Launches Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Multiplayer Beta*

Santa Monica-based game publisher Activision has launched a beta of its
latest title in the Call of Duty line, Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare.
According to Activision, the beta of its title is available to PlayStation
4 players, giving and early access look to its new, multi-player features.
The title--being developed for Activision by game studio Infinity
Ward--will allow users playing on both gaming consoles and PC platforms to

*MemComputing Joins Air Force Research Lab Space Accelerator*

San Diego-based MemComputing, a startup working on high performance
computing technology, says it has been selected to join the Air Force
Research Laboratory's Catalyst Space Accelerator, being held in Colorado
Springs, Colorado. According to MemComputing, it is working on software
which uses physics principles and the logic and reasoning functions of the

*Future Media Buys Oak & Jackal*

Irvine-based Future Media, a digital marketing company, announced late
Thursday that it has acquired Oak & Jackal, a direct-to-consumer maker of
watches. Financial details of the acquisition were not announced. Future
Media said the acquisition is its first foray into consumer sales. Oak &
Jackal was originally launched and funded through an effort on Kickstarter,

*Report: Hulu Drops Google Daydream VR Support*

Los Angeles-based streaming television service Hulu has dropped support for
Google's Daydream VR platform, according to a report on Thursday, which
makes it impossible for owners of Google's VR headset to access Hulu
content. The report--from Variety--said
Hulu quietly dropped the support in the past couple of weeks. Hulu did say
that owners running older versions of its app can still access its content
on Google Daydream--at least until they update to Hulu's latest Android app

*Rebound Therapeutics Acquired By Integra Lifesciences*

Irvine-based Rebound Therapeutics, a developer of single use, disposable
devices used in minimally invasive surgical procedures, has been acquired
by Integra LifeSciences, the companies said this week. Financial details of
the acquisition were not announced. Rebound's Auro Surgiscope system is a
single-use, disposable, neurosurgical endoscope, and had its products
cleared by the FDA in January. Rebound Therapeutics will become part of
Integra's Codman Specialty Surgical division. (More...

*Fair Acquires Canvas From Ford*

Santa Monica-based Fair, which offers up very flexible, subscription-based
leases on used cars, has acquired the Canvas subscription car service,
which was owned by Ford Motor Credit. Financial terms of the acquisition
were not announced. According to Ford, existing customers of Canvas will be
given an option to join Fair's service at the ends of their current vehicle
subscription term. Fair's service--unlike a traditional lease--lets users
