A new, Los Angeles-based startup, Canoo, says it is hoping to launch a
brand new, electric vehicle (EV) subscription service, which uses vehicles
designed and built by the company. According to Canoo, it hopes to launch
its subscription-only EV service starting in 2021, in Los Angeles. Canoo
rolled out details on its vehicle on Tuesday, saying it had created an EV
with "significantly more interior space" and which it called "an urban loft

Glendale-based LegalZoom, the provider of legal documents and services for
small businesses and families, has named a new CEO, saying on Tuesday
afternoon that it has named Daniel Wernikoff as its new Chief Executive
Officer. Wernikoff takes over from longtime CEO John Suh, who LegalZoom
said will become a Senior Advisor to the company. Suh will also step down
from his position on the company's board of directors. Suh had been CEO for

Irvine-based utility-scale, solar power development company 174 Power
Global said this morning that it has scored a win in Jacksonville, Florida,
for a nine megawatt (MW) solar plus battery energy storage system.

it has linked up with ad delivery and monetization company Targetspot.
According to the two, the deal will provide new ad delivery capabilities

Los Angeles-based Catasys, a provider of technology that uses artificial
intelligence (AI) to predict, identify, and treat mental issues among
health plans members, has raised $45M in a debt financing round, the
company said on Tuesday. The financing came from Goldman Sachs. According
to Catasys, it provides 7 of the 8 largest U.S. health plans, including
Aetna and Humana, to identify members with untreated behavioral health

shuttle bus service in Minneapolis and elsewhere in the Midwest. The
funding was led by Upfront Ventures, and also included Mucker Capital and
Matchstick Ventures. The company currently offers up connections between
Duluth International Airport and Minneapolis-St. Paul International
Airport, and Mankato Regional Airport and Minneapolis-St. Paul

Carlsbad-based SleepScore, a developer of mobile apps which help people get
a better night's sleep, has raised $1.845M in a funding round, according to
a regulatory filing by the firm. Details on the funding have not yet been
announced. SleepScore's app uses a phone's microphone to detect if a user
is snoring, grinding their teeth, and also monitors a user's breathing

Los Angeles-based fintech startup ZestFinance appears to be on the cusp of
a deal with housing finance giant Freddie Mac, according to a report today
in the WSJ. The report said that Freddie Mac is testing underwriting

been acquired by San Francisco-based Medallia, a provider of customer
experience management software. Medallia said it will pay approximately
$42M in cash for Zingle. Zingle had been backed by Rincon Ventures and
Crosscut Ventures, and had raised $3M in its Series A funding round in
