*McDonald's Testing Beyond Meat Burger In Canada*

McDonald's will be testing a new burger made from the plant-based burgers
from El Segundo-based Beyond Meat, at restaurants in Canada, the fast food
giant said this morning. According to McDonald's, the new "P.L.T." will be
made with Beyond Meat, and will be available in select restaurants in
Canada beginning on September 30th. McDonald's said the 12-week test of the
P.L.T.--for "Plant, Lettuce, Tomato"--will be available in 28 restaurants

*Grind Banking Aims At African American Community*

Los Angeles-based Grind Banking, a new fintech startup, says it is looking
to cater to the needs of African American consumers, as well as other
underserved communities, with its new products. The startup says it will
offer up FDIC insured debit accounts, and a mobile banking app specifically

specifically to fill the void created in 2017 when Russell Simmons'

*Ring Rolls Out New Indoor Security Cam*

Santa Monica-based Ring, the developer of connected doorbells and security
cameras which is now part of Amazon, has rolled out a new, indoor security
camera, called the Ring Indoor Cam. According to Ring, the new product is
available for $59.99, the company's most affordable camera. The new camera
is part of a refresh of Ring's various security cameras, which include new
battery, solar, and plug-in powered version of the Ring Stick Up Cam. (

FandangoNOW, the video-on-demand service run by Los Angeles-based movie
ticketing and information site Fandango, has launched a new movie and TV
store on Oculus Go and Quest, the company said o Wednesday. According to
Fandango, the new store provides access to its catalog of over 90,000
movies and TV shows. Fandango said that FandangoNOW is available now on
both the Oculur Go VR headset and Oculus Quest, the all-in-one gaming

users can (almost) skip normal meals, has rolled out a new product--and
finally embraced the odd use of a name best known for its dystopian,

*Crowdstrike Gets More Unwelcome Attention In Ukraine Scandal*

Crowdstrike, the cybersecurity software developer which was founded in
Orange County, which recently had its IPO, is getting some unwelcome
attention today after the company's name came up in a transcript of calls
involving Ukraine and the President of the United States.
Crowdstrike--which has a offices in Irvine--had its IPO in June, and had
been hired by the Democratic National Committee (DNC) to investigate

Los Angeles-based venture investor Greycroft is the lead investor in
ZenBusiness, a new startup providing small business services. According to
ZenBusiness, it raised $15M in its Series A funding, which was led by
Greycroft, and also included Lerer Hippeau, Revolution's Rise of the Rest
Seed Fund, as well as Rosecliff Venture Partners, Interlock Partners, and

A new, Los Angeles-based startup, Canoo, says it is hoping to launch a
brand new, electric vehicle (EV) subscription service, which uses vehicles
designed and built by the company. According to Canoo, it hopes to launch
its subscription-only EV service starting in 2021, in Los Angeles. Canoo
rolled out details on its vehicle on Tuesday, saying it had created an EV
with "significantly more interior space" and which it called "an urban loft
