Frank Keeney,

Well this is ok in the home....WiMAX to be equal to WiFi ought to come off a T1. That is part of the definition; that is 'Broadband'...so who will hang this off the carrier? Who will maintain the switching? It has less to do with wether it is installed before or after on the client side. There is no acceptable RFP to the IEEE and that is what is neccessary to deploy out to scale. It will happen. It must. It is the future. But this is not about chips and systems. This is like VOIP when it first deployed. Where is the QOS? Who maintains this thing. You still have to go back to the CU last mile. How will you get true Broadband from the switch to 3, 5, 6, 30 mi out? You need a standard that is acceptable to the industry and the public. Now you have to monitor every 3 mi AP from the switch. They can lock up or go down. Who is providing the Broadband? This is just pretzel logic.

Without even going into the technical specs and
difficulties; consider
this; you are now going to send your signal out 1 mi. from
'Starbucks', say.
