A few people work/live up on the mountain anywhere from 2 to 4 days per
week, 24 hours at a time. They're all Hams. After talking to them on the
radio I found out that they were using very unreliable dial up access. I
offered free broadband in exchange for space and of course they were very
happy with that arrangement.

The equipment has been there over a year now and has been very reliable.
Most of the use of the AP on the mountain has been for my own purposes of
antenna testing. The furthest I've tested is 15 miles away with a 19dbi
panel antenna. I'm sure it would work even further, but I've not yet tried
it.

Cool. Just how do you go about procuring a space for an access point up
there? I mean, is it installed in an existing facility, or lashed to a pine
tree or what?
