I know that their coverage is really good - I live in an area where there are no freeways and very poor cellular coverage for the other providers and Verizon works flawlessly.
Is it possible to use blue tooth from the cellphone to the laptop and get Verizon to provide the ISP connection for straight air-time charges?

Verizon's upload speeds were always the fastest.
T-Mobile EDGE never quite reached 200 kilobits.
One attendee clocked 33 kilobits on his Cingular PDA.
