Frank: I've had Verizon wireless card for 1.5 yrs, works great. Can get signal at most metro areas, Las Vegas & LA.
What is the *general* coverage situation with Sprint? Is it less, since they have gotten a later start? Like someone said in another thread, the coverage for each carrier can be _local-specific_. Your choice in carrier, depends on your usage area. I like that Sprint Aircard Sierra Wireless 580..it can take an *external* antenna. Very important to me. Some of the newer cards can't. There is a hack, which will allow this card to work with BOTH PC laptop & Powerbook. Also, very important to me. The Verizon sells the PC 5740 ( I have the PC5220 I got 1 yr ago), anyone know if it will take an external antenna? Are both carriers doing the $79/month plan? (I know Verizon drops it to $59/month if you get a voice plan). I always like Sprint, because of better value plans. There was some test of EVDO downloads by some magazine, & Sprint beat out Verizon. Hard choice. Verizon probably has better overall general coverage, Sprint has better download speeds & better value plans. Maybe I take a chance, & go with Sprint (for my business partner). --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "SOCALWUG" group.
