I understand the need for security and safety - but all this money the government makes by imposing fines for everything under the sun, is getting ridiculous. Soon, the only 'business' in the U.S. WITH any money will be the government - then the people will have to start imposing fines on them just to get their money back.
Maybe a WiFi revolution (of well connected and organized citizens) will be the catalyst? Sorry for the intrusion - figured I've been listening to this group for over 3 years, I might as well say something :-) Regards, JJ --- On Thu 09/07, Charlie Wallace < [EMAIL PROTECTED] > wrote: From: Charlie Wallace [mailto: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [email protected] Date: Wed, 6 Sep 2006 23:59:17 -0700 Subject: [SOCALWUG] MCC passed this to me, ahnold is doing his thing

the wifi security bit is the interesting bit

quoted

California passes ban on handheld cell phone use while driving!

Hi Charlie:

Governor Schwarzenegger has indicated he would sign this bill if passed,
so it looks to be an almost certain deal.

Details of the article:

Sep 1, 2006
WASHINGTON-The California legislature passed bills that prohibit driver
use of handheld cell phones in the nation's most populous state, enhance
Wi-Fi security and allow consumers to contest unauthorized wireless
charges.
