I got terminated by their service because I downloaded Vista Beta (silly
me). I did not have to pay the early termination fee. I'd be surprised if
Verizon could get away with it, but it doesn't surprise me that they would
try.

I've switched to Sprint, which doesn't have the same draconian TOS but lacks
the same throughput that Verizon has (or had as the case may be). EVDO
pales in comparison from a price/performance perspective to 802.11b or g,
but it's really the only option in my particular location.

Regards,
Jeff

Subject: [SOCALWUG] Verizon Wireless EVDO

I just read that someone got charged $175 for an early termination fee for
going over 5 Gigs on the 'unlimited' EVDO service, as its a violation of the
TOS since you can't go over 5 Gigs transfer and stay within the ruleset (
which is basically true, since pretty much everything is against the TOS ),
this is the first time i've heard of someone being charged for it though,
disconnects are commonplace.

I just terminated my Verizon EVDO service since it was very unreliable
bandwidth-wise and they had me on the $80 a month deal, I'm sticking to
starbucks/tmobile hotspot service pay as you go, which has been a much
better deal in the USA ( not so much elsewhere ).
