Most California State Parks have WiFi in the campgrounds, near the Ranger Stations or Visitor Centers: http://www.parks.ca.gov/default.asp?page_id=23780
We camped at Anza Borrego (Palm Canyon Campground) the weekend before last and my Sprint EVDO card worked perfectly so I didn't bother trying WiFi. And off topic, we were fortunate to see Big Horn Sheep after hiking 1.5 miles into Palm Canyon: http://snurl.com/bighorn more: http://snurl.com/anzaborrego When I travel I normally bring and EVDO card and WiFi card. Plus a 1.9GHz yagi for EVDO and 2.4GHz 19dbi panel antenna for WiFi.
