its a fairly simple piece of software, you
basically want a redirect of sorts, the
program would just open both serial ports, and
redirect the information coming
into the first serial port, then out to the second
port (once its connected )
via some protocol, then a piece of software at the
target ip would decode that
data, you could even go as far as making a
virtual serial port that would
take the data from the tcp port and feed it to
mapping software.
However on sprint i have noticed they seem to do
odd things with certain
ports, so you'd want to use http to send it, that
seems to work fine..
the laptop/gps/phone connection would be easy to
do, the server side
is a little tricker, unless you have access
to one of the mapping programs
