I am using 5gwireless access point in marina del rey which is actually 3
radios and as I drive around the marina I switch between radios.

I use Timbuktu to remote desktop connect to my office and I have no
trouble with disconnects while changing radios or if I have a momentary
loss of communication with the access point due to obstruction Timbuktu
will keep on going as long as the disconnect is not too long. The same
has been true for web pages.

I am using a Mac to connect to a windoze machine but I do not think that
has much to do with it. I think the client radio software needs to allow
the roaming.

I think 5gwireless has done a good job setting their system up so it
works well while roaming.

Sincerely,
Scott

Good point, Dave... disconnection of my application would be kinda like
my normal
Windoz experience.

The point I'm making is that people, especially people who are
advocating the use
of wireless, often don't take the time to understand the actual
capabilities of the network
that they are publicizing. Mobile connectivity means that the
application keeps running
while the user is moving through the area of coverage and from access
point to access
point (yeah... and even behind buildings and other obstructions). I'd be
very surprised if this
WiFi network really has that capability.... well, I guess time will
tell...
