If you've got a TiBook, then you likely have a 15" TiBook, since the 12" and 17" PB are only available as aluminum.
This being the case, you probably have a "PC Card" (typically called PCMCIA, but actually CardBus) slot.
For $89 you could get a real card, say, one of the Senao/EnGenius 2511 CD Plus (200mW, captive antenna)
or the 2511 CD Plus EXT2 (200mW and has 2 MMCX antenna connectors, but no built-in antenna), or for a little
more, the EXT2 card, and a pair of the little 2dBi omni's that plug into the MMCX connectors.
You'd need to run a non-apple driver: http://wirelessdriver.sourceforge.net/
Or you could go with an 802.11g or 802.11a/g card with an Atheros chipset in it, doing so would require that
you run the Orangeware driver ($15)
http://www.orangeware.com/Bin/OWC_Wireless_Setup_v2_1t.sitx
Or, you can probably find a Broadcom-based PCMCIA/Cardbus card, such as the Linksys <x-tad-smaller>WPC54G
</x-tad-smaller>and run the driver that is built-in to OS X! Careful shopping will yield a Broadcom based card for less than $50.
Here are a list of cards and the drivers that work with them on various versions of MacOS:

We sell the Senao 11b, 11g and 11g/a cards (the 11g and 11a/g are Atheros-based), as well as the little clip-on antennas, but you don't need to buy from us to get it working.

The reception of my airport card in this Fareysch's cage called Powerbook Ti
is driving me nuts. So now I am thinking of getting an antenna and I am
looking at Quickertek's antennas to increase the reception of my
airport card (http://www.quickertek.com/products.html) but the price tag on
it is quite high with $89. Does anybody have any experience with other
antennas e.g. from orinoco, etc.? Or should I just get another wlan card
though I have the feeling that an antenna would have a bigger impact on my
reception than a new pc card. Whatever I'll get it has to be Mac OS X
compatible!
Also I am a bit puzzled that Quickertek is offering different version for
the AL and TI Pb. Does anybody know if they aren't compatible?
Thanks for any advice!
