Even a proper 2.4GHz splitter will have a 3dB loss in power, *plus* the insertion loss of the splitter.

Splitting the signal is not as easy as with power you need a signal
splitter for 2.4 to do the job.

The links I found on Google all seem to focus on the older Clamshell
iBook. I have a newer snow iBook.

Is it possible to make a Y-pigtail connector, so the antenna in the
screen is still connected and usable when a external antenna is not?

just drop a pigtail from inside it, it will require a small case mod, this is a common path for the ibook and powerbook , check google.

There isn't anything that can be done for the ibook. With no PC slot
and or antenna connector its kind of limited. The only things to be
added is software. None of which boost the power of the card.

Which iBook do you have? If its the older G3 version you can run
Kismac
or even Kismet, if you have X11 installed. The iBook G4 uses the
Extreme card and it is not supported yet by some of the tools out
their.

I have a iBook 700/G3 and love it. The reception on a iBook is the
best
of any of the Apple laptops. The only thing that I have thought
about trying is attaching a USB wifi adaptor attached to the dash and
seeing if it will extend the range. Has anyone tried this or given it
any thought? I figure a WET11 with a 200mw card should work. As long
as the
software such as iStumbler, Kismac or MacStumbler support USB.

What can i do to tweak my iBook for wardriving?

Does anyone have any tips?

I know there isn't a way to get an external antenna for it so i'm
fixing to get it as tweaked as possible.
