I happen to know a potential buyer for this product that only needs it for perhaps 1 mw of transmit power in, say a 1U dedicated computer. It would be for use on airplanes creating microcell access points. I'm not sure why you would want multiple cards .vs using something like a line antenna with taps.
Also, does this product have to be for wireless cards or can you use other mPCI devices? For example, can you use storage, serial, ethernet, telemetry, etc?
I'm sure that nearly any miniPCI card will work, subject to the limitations of available current, and the simple fact that some of them bring signals out of the miniPCI edge connector (audio, provisions for Ethernet, etc), that I doubt this carrier makes provisions for.
I mention this because sometimes companies that break tradition, also create new markets for their products.
Sure. I think this would be an interesting way to get 8 crypto accelerators into a single PCI slot (e.g. 1U) system. If the mobo had dual 1Gb ethernets, it could make for an "interesting" VPN gateway.
