That's one of the things we're trying to do with Bloggers Without
Borders ( http://www.b19s.org ) actually send people over to help out.
We've gotten a lot of frequent flyer miles donated to help just do
that.

Wireless is the communications carrier of the future - soon it will

Didn't someone shout that we were silly to think that wireless could
be of any help in this crisis and we were less-than-human to consider
what we work with to be important in this situation? I would like to
mention that IF there is a need, a person has something to say, or
there is true TROUBLE, communications have always been the answer to
carry that need to others. Modern communications can mean life or
death - as long as you have something to say...
Further, if we were to GO and be there on the spot, every $1,000.00 we
would spend to help would be worth (at least) $10,000.00 in
contribution money. We should get a group together and GO and really
make a difference.

FYI - Other Groups/Companies using wireless to make positive impact.
Red Herring online reports on the efforts of Cisco...In the article,
Clint
Roswell from IBM Global Services said, "Because of the devastation
we'll
have to do a lot of this wirelessly. When you start from zero, the most
manageable way is through a wireless infrastructure."
