Hello, I don't know when will I have time to do it, but I'd like to get rid of C++98 support in SOCI master. The question is, what should be the minimum compiler versions that we'd still like to support? The most conservative requirement would be just gcc 4.8 and MSVS 2013 or later (not sure about clang, but I think old clang versions are used much less often than gcc and MSVS ones, so it shouldn't be a problem in any case), i.e. just a subset of C++11. The latest versions, corresponding to the ones that I personally still need to use, would be gcc 6.1 and MSVS 2017, i.e. C++14.
What do you think should we choose? Thanks in advance for your thoughts about this! VZ
