Hi again Peter
You asked: "OOC: Why are you using MS spyware when Ad-Adaware is so free and so not MS?"
I have a computer business and carry Ad-aware and Spybot around with me. Why did I try the new M$ product? Good question. I didn't go looking for it, from memory I think it was offered to me somewhere along the line when I was updating Windows or downloading some M$ code. It was free: "Try the Free Beta1 version ..." (or something to that extent), and I think I decided to try it and see if it was worth adding to my arsenal of anti-spy/ad/mal-ware. After all, M$ should be more aware of the shortcomings of its OS than anyone else???
Of course it is not free - when did M$ give anything away it could sell? - LOL. The Free beta-1 version turns out to have a 180 day time limit on it - bastards!
So, I will not be adding it to my toolbox, but I do have it on my computer at the moment, but not for long, and as it runs automatically that is why I asked the question - "Could it be responsible for disassociating my OOo files from the OOo program".
Kind regards and many thanks, James Elliott
Yeah I had heard that they would soon be offering it free with their OS, so maybe just the beta has a time limit. I don't know.
They have a "free" firewall, so maybe they really will offer free spy ware, who knows. :)
