No, just because a guy from the Imperial period when the Jedi are dead
calls it a religion it doesn't mean that it was, or that the Jedi
thought of it as such. Look, he didn't even see a distinction between
magic (sorcerer) and religion. So if you meet a regular guy of the
street who isn't into Yoga and he tells you that it's a religion would
you conclude that it is? or that Yoga practitioners see it as such?
The Force has more in common with non-religious faith systems (e.g. Ying
Yang) than with religion.
