Debian rulez!
I really like the Debian model. Debian is the big, core distribution and
other commercial distros branch off from it (Linspire, Ubuntu, etc). The
point is that the big community distro is the central trunk of
development. It's the common base for everyone, and the other distros
branch off from it.
