Silly? Well, go tell this to Ian Murdock. I'm just saying that many
people including me have a hard time figuring out how and why an Ubuntu
foundation was created in approximately the same time Debian, Progeny,
Linspire, Xandros and other commercial and non commercial distros were
founding the DCC, Debian Core Consortium.

I don't see how that proves anything. I would be grateful for a link to Ian Murdock's opinion on this.
