Anyhoo, it's a scientific fact that the Moon has an effect on a woman's
monthly cycle (just ask any married man [or in any state of male/female
relationship - dating, common-law, married, divorced, has sisters. and so
forth] whether or not the moon can affect her moods, etc.

Thats why they call it 'monthly cycle', or as both my daughters call
it -PMS: Putting Up With Men's Shit -, which has been known to cause
minor??? conflicts between my pure, innocent, self and my the females with
whom I'm privileged to live.

Seems unlikely given the mass of a person or their body components but
could be something we have missed :-)

No dispute that power lines produce strong varying magnetic fields but
do they affect people? How many kids play with really strong magnets and
how many suffer health defects accordingly?

- Yup, but the magnets they play with don't have the magnetic field that
power lines do.  500 kV x 100 kA is an awful lot of power, some research
places have toroidal magnets of that strength that they use for such minor
things as pulling staples, nuclear research, cyclotrons.
The research into health defects isn't known, as yet, because the power line
right of ways are mostly used up here for grazing cattle and horses (and the
odd deer and meese).  Not too many people want to build a $500,000.00 (Can)
house under a power line, does something to the artistic look of the house.

I'm surprised you can get enough power transfer to run a farm unless the
coil is very close to a power line and is quite long. Still if you held
a fluorescent tube up close to a power cable it will light up because of
the voltage gradient from the power cable to the ground. If a lot of
current flowed to ground the power company would lose a lot of money. If
you act as the conductor to facilitate that process you are likely to
die ;-)

Folk) in diameter.  Or they use PVC water pipe.  The voltage to ground isn't
that high, about 150 to 200 volts or so.  The power lines are usually about
40 to 50 feet above ground, so the coil is reasonably close.  Ive worked on
a house about 500 feet away from a 250 kV power line, cleaning up the wiring
and installing the circuit grounds.  We kept getting shocks when we
connected the grounds in the cable to the main ground, so I measured the
voltage to ground.  95 to 150 volts from the ground bonding conductors to
the panel connection to ground.

Only if you clip directly into the cable or have a very efficient way of
doing the induction. In any case, why not just put a circuit breaker or
fuse in the circuit? that would be easy to do.
