A 4501 can do somewhere around 600 requests a second[1].  Multiply by  
512 or 1024 to get the number of supported (sane) clients.  Should be  
plenty for most corporate networks.  :-)

[1] I forget the exact number - it was doing about 300kbit/sec  
traffic for a long time and when it increased beyond that it fell over.
