Hi all

I now know why my SATA didn't work. U40 (a small chip near the SATA
bridge) was misplaced by 1 pin. Moving it back to its correct position
on the board fixed the problem. (I can happily have CF primary and SATA
secondary.)

U22 which I'm guessing is the COM2 driver chip was also misplaced by a
pin. I had this cut out as we had no safe way of desoldering it, I have
no particular need for COM2 and it seemed unsafe to leave it in circuit
as it was.

I have a picture of the chips before this was done which clearly shows
the problem & I will send it to whoever wants it but at 139k I didn't
think the list would appreciate it. These functions were clearly
untested as they can never have worked - Soekris needs to improve its
testing before dispatch. Can I claim some sort of refund? (say the cost
of postage x2 from the UK to Soekris which is what it would have cost
them if I'd returned it for repair)

Ta
