Well, nothing keeps you from replacing the power supply with one that
has the desired quality.

The standard soekris supply is 12 Volt, 1.5 Amp, D.C., unregulated, but
1 Amp is fine, unless you have a hard disk or a very hungry PCI card.
Voltage can be anything between 11 and 20 Volt or more, depending on
your soekris model. See the soekris manuals for details or Poul-Henning
Kamp's page: http://phk.freebsd.dk/soekris/power.html.

I have good experiences with those cheap 12 V., 1 A. wall things that
we all have lying around unused, but an industrial grade regulated
supply is of course also a good option, depending on your needs, desires
and budget.

It's even possible to construct your own 12 Volt UPS, a concept is on
PHKs pages: http://phk.freebsd.dk/soekris/ups/.

The standard soekris power supply may not have a spotless reputation,
but it's not difficult to supply power to a soekris.
