I am a newbie to using soekris boxes. I recently purchased net4521 boxed and
wanted to try adding multiple NICs on a single system. I have bought power
supplies from soekris 1.5A, 12V. I also bought PC-Cardbus type network adapters
(WPC55AG) and was trying to run it on this box. But, when I plug it in, it just
does not seem to work. I mean i do not even get power. Is it a known issue that
soekris net4521 cannot drive newer network adapters. I am just wondering
because I just have one card on the system and power requirements say for one
card is around 3 volts. Could this be because of the rather slow 133Mhz
processor?
Please let me know if there is something that I am missing here. I have
installed pyramid-linux: a slim version of ubuntu. I see that all the necessary
drivers are available for AR5212 but at this point in time, even the card is
not being powered /recognized. If someone has tested different PC- cardbus,
please let me adapters that are compatible with net4521.
