i recently procured a net5501 to play with a bit. i have a suitable Hitachi SATA drive and of course the mounting kit with serial and power cable.
i have the drive mounted on/in the bracket and the brass standoffs installed. the power cable is not too much of a problem, but the SATA cable itself --- is anyone having problems stuffing it under the bracket? i *think* i can make it work, but it seems to want to naturally lie upon the USB headers (JP8), and i'm afraid that too much force will puncture the cable itself, so i want to proceed gingerly, as i don't have any spares right now. google hasn't helped much, and this doesn't appeared to have come up in the list archives. does anyone have any words of wisdom here? pix would be great as well. i have the drive connectors facing the front of the unit, which is the way the picture on Soekris' website has it. in fact i don't think the power would reach if i turned it around, so i think this is my only option. any thoughts much appreciated. --john _______________________________________________ Soekris-tech mailing list [email protected] http://lists.soekris.com/mailman/listinfo/soekris-tech
