Hi Everybody,

I've got a spiffy little 5501 thats just about ready for deployment
into a colo for traffic shaping. I'm running NanoBSD.

While doing bringup, I ran into some problems where the soekris would
require a reboot, mostly at system startup. In one case, I wound up
with a broken shell. So the system wedged at startup, and the only
solution was a hard reset. I've also run into problems where the
machine wedges on the way down. In both cases, it was my fault, but
I've been known to make mistakes, and I want the machine to help me stay
out of trouble.

So that takes me to my question: Is there anyway to activate the
hardware watchdog in the BIOS? I'd like to set it to something
generous, say 5 minutes.

That way if I don't get a live OS load, I'll get a chance to boot off
the other partition. When the system goes multiuser, it can turn it
off. Likewise for shutdown. It looks like you can do it by poking
registers, but that leaves a lot to be desired.
