Thank you all for the pointers.

I am looking for something more generic and simpler.

Yes. The basics, configure DHCP, Network, Reboot, looks at the services,
etc. i intend to use mine as a services appliance rather than a router or
firewall.

Openwrt web interface looks simple enough for me although the Kamikaze has a
lot less libraries than voyage linux, i'll need to figure out how to install
the necessary ones so that my daemon can work.

Also, i noticed that openwrt has many variants. I tried dd-wrt first but
couldn't get it to boot. Then i tried the original openwrt/kamikaze and it
worked, i don't know what happened to the earlier, but never mind.

i intend to use the 256mb ALIX box. Do you know if there's an OEM embedded
vendor that sells generic OEM embedded boxes that works well with Openwrt or
Soekris can work well with that? I know sells Netgear has a very cheap open
source wireless router but i'll need serial port and usb ports for external
devices.

Yes, but it should be able to edit the network/interfaces file. I read
somewhere that webmin can't do this for Voyage Linux. I've yet to
experiment that.

Is Debian Lenny better than Voyage Linux? I know the latter is derived from
the earlier. I intend to use Flash.

do you mean Debian Lenny?
