I recently purchased a net5501-60 with the intention of using with it a SATA HD and CompactFlash card (and booting from the CompactFlash).
But I have a problem: the net5501 will not detect both the HD and the CompactFlash card. If the CompactFlash card and HD are installed, BIOS shows the Flash card as "Pri Mas" device and never lists the HD. If only the HD is installed, the BIOS _sometimes_ lists the HD. When it does, it is listed as "Pri Sla" and "134 Gbyte" instead of the roughly 320GiB that it is. I have tried it with 2 HDs: - Western Digital 320GiB SATA - Seagate 320GiB SATA Both HDs work in a ThinkPad T61 laptop. Both HDs work with a USB/SATA adapter. I have tried using an external power supply (from the adapter) for the hard drive. I upgraded the BIOS from 1.33 to 1.33c. I sent the board back assuming issue 7/8 (at http://www.soekris.com/Issue0007-8.htm) and received a replacement. Here are the BIOS settings I am using. ConSpeed = 115200 ConLock = Enabled ConMute = Disabled BIOSentry = Enabled PCIROMS = Enabled PXEBoot = Disabled FLASH = Primary BootDelay = 2 FastBoot = Disabled BootPartition = Disabled BootDrive = 80 81 F0 FF ShowPCI = Enabled Reset = Hard CpuSpeed = Default What next? Thanks.
