Hi, I've been lurking here for a while. I currently have a linksys router running dd-wrt. Although it's worked fine for me, I'm totally intrigued with the idea of building low power wireless linux router with the Soekris net4521.
I ultimately would like to broadcast two networks, one secure internal network and one public, but throttled, network. Both networks wireless N (looking at the atheros cards). I'm thinking of going with debian however gentoo might be compelling in terms having a smaller initial OS install (I could be wrong about this since I haven't touched either of these distros in years). I'm simply looking at this a personal project to improve my iptables and dns knowledge. Does this sound like a well-grounded plan? Are there any caveats that might need to be addressed?
