Um i think you are mistaken. The 5501 board will not provide Power
over ethernet but rather can be powered by power over ethernet. You
could do some kind of sketchy soldering to make it provide power, but
that would surely void the warranty. You need to get a power over
ethernet injector for the phone (or build one). something like this:
http://www.metrix.net/passive-poe-adapter-18v-20w-p-338.html would
probably work well. You might want to check the docs for your IP phone
and see what cisco recommends.

Certain switches by cisco provide power over ethernet if you plan on
having many IP phones.
