I have successfully used an Openvox A400P card in a net5501.

I have both the A400P and a Hitachi Travelstar 5K500.B hard drive
plugged into JP12 without any problems, and the unit is powered
through JP5 using a stock net5501 AC/DC adapter ordered from Soekris.
