Interesting option.
As mentioned before I've only been able to update my comBIOS by using
FlashROM from FreeBSD (linux would work too).
I assume that the net4801 is like a standard PC in that the BIOS
settings are stored in a separate area from the BIOS itself such that
flashing my ROM with someones image that is configured in this way
will not give me that functionality.

If this is not the case I'd be keen to try this if someone can provide
a comBIOS v1.33 image read from their net4801 ROM using FlashROM
(http://www.flashrom.org/Flashrom) if it is configured to boot in an
order: CF, Disk, PXE.

I'm hoping it would still PXE boot if I have a non-bootable CF card in
the slot because I'm trying to work out why my NanoBSD image doesn't
seem to load from my SanDisk Ultra II (15MB/s) 2GB CF card even with
the 1.33 comBIOS. Has this been covered before on the list ?
(something to do with set the CF to slave instead of master maybe ?).

Yes, the best option would be a program to update comBIOS settings
from a running OS.
