Ditto. There's pros and cons both ways, I prefer to keep things closer to stock than the custom/different management that tends to come with the flashdisk distributions. If I were managing 100s of them in production I'd do things differently, but for 1 home system, meh. Keep a backup, and if the flash eats itself, restore from the backup.
